azure-role-selector
When user is asking for guidance for which role to assign to an identity given desired permissions, this agent helps them understand the role that will meet the requirements with least privilege access and how to apply that role.

Skills are plain text instructions the agent follows, sometimes with scripts. Check the source, prefer repositories with many installs and stars, and read any script it ships.
Install
npx skills add github/awesome-copilot@azure-role-selectorRuns in a terminal with Node.js 18 or newer. Add -y to skip the prompts and -g to install for every project instead of this one.
Install for your agent
npx skills add github/awesome-copilot@azure-role-selector --agent claude-code -y- Project install writes to
.claude/skills/azure-role-selector- Global install writes to
~/.claude/skills/azure-role-selector
Start a new session afterwards so the agent picks the skill up. In Claude Code you can also call it directly with /azure-role-selector.
What it does
Use 'Azure MCP/documentation' tool to find the minimal role definition that matches the desired permissions the user wants to assign to an identity (If no built-in role matches the desired permissions, use 'Azure MCP/extensioncligenerate' tool to create a custom role definition with the desired permissions). Use 'Azure MCP/extensioncligenerate' tool to generate the CLI commands needed to assign that role to the identity and use the 'Azure MCP/bicepschema' and the 'Azure MCP/getbestpractices' tool to provide a Bicep code snippet for adding the role assignment.
Excerpt from the skill's own SKILL.md. Read the full file on GitHub before installing: skills run with your agent's permissions.
