Database and SQL skills for Claude Code, Cursor and Codex

91 skills for schemas, queries and migrations, ranked by installs.

Database mistakes are expensive to undo, and agents make the classic ones: no index on the foreign key, a migration that locks the table, a text column for money. Database skills are checklists from people who have been paged for those. They cover schema design, reading an EXPLAIN plan, writing migrations that can be rolled back, and the newer topic of vector columns for semantic search.

postgresql-table-design, sql-optimization-patterns and database-migration from wshobson's agents repository form a coherent PostgreSQL set. postgres-pro from Jeffallan is a single broader skill. The timescale pg-aiguide repository contributes postgres and pgvector-semantic-search, which are unusually careful about versions and extension availability.

Most skills here are PostgreSQL-first. If you run MySQL, SQLite or MongoDB, read the description before installing; the tag also matches ORM and API-design skills that mention a database in passing.

Ask the agent to output a migration and its rollback together, and to say which statements take a lock. Skills that do this by default save you the incident later.

  • xlsx

    anthropics/skills

Use this skill any time a spreadsheet file is the primary input or output. This means any task where the user wants to: open, read, edit, or fix an existing .xlsx, .xlsm, .xltx, .csv, or .tsv file (e.g., adding columns, computing formulas, formatting, charting, cleaning messy data); create a new spreadsheet from scratch or from other data sources; or convert between tabular file formats. Trigger especially when the user references a spreadsheet file by name or path — even casually (like \"the xlsx in my downloads\") — and wants something done to it or produced from it. Also trigger for cleaning or restructuring messy tabular data files (malformed rows, misplaced headers, junk data) into proper spreadsheets. The deliverable must be a spreadsheet file. Do NOT trigger when the primary deliverable is a Word document, HTML report, standalone Python script, database pipeline, or Google Sheets API integration, even if tabular data is involved.

  • hunt-rag-vector

    elementalsouls/Claude-BugHunter

Hunt vector-store / embedding-layer weaknesses in RAG pipelines (OWASP LLM08 Vector and Embedding Weaknesses) — persistent corpus poisoning that survives across sessions and users (distinct from one-shot indirect prompt injection, which is owned by hunt-llm-ai), cross-tenant vector-database IDOR (unauthenticated or unscoped queries against Pinecone/Weaviate/Chroma/Milvus/Qdrant/pgvector), source-text/metadata leakage in similarity-search results, and retrieval-hijack via adversarial embedding proximity ('SEO poisoning' for RAG). Targets: any app with a shared knowledge base, document upload feeding a chatbot, or a directly reachable vector-DB port. Validate: a second, clean session/account must inherit a poisoned result, or a cross-tenant artifact must be independently verifiable — confabulation is not a finding, same bar as hunt-llm-ai. Use when target is RAG-backed, exposes a vector-DB port, or lets users upload documents that other users' queries later retrieve.
