Skills DirectoryPython
Python skills for Claude Code, Cursor and Codex
183 skills for writing Python the way it is written in 2026, ranked by installs.
Python is where model training data is oldest and deepest, so agents default to setup.py, requirements.txt and unittest even when the project uses pyproject, uv and pytest. Python skills mostly exist to override that: which tools to use, how to type-annotate, how to structure a package, and which library patterns are current. The framework skills go further and encode project layouts for FastAPI or Django.
modern-python from Trail of Bits is the tooling baseline: uv, ruff, type checking and packaging. fastapi-templates from wshobson and django-expert from Jeffallan are the framework skills. pandas-pro covers data frames, python-testing from affaan-m covers pytest conventions, and Anthropic's webapp-testing uses Python scripts to drive Playwright.
Many skills here ship .py helpers. They run with your interpreter and your environment variables, so open the scripts folder before you install.
If your project pins an older Python, mention the version in the request. Several skills assume 3.12 syntax, such as the newer generic and type-parameter forms, and will produce code that does not run on 3.9.

- pptx
anthropics/skills
Use this skill any time a .pptx or .potx file is involved in any way — as input, output, or both. This includes: creating slide decks, pitch decks, or presentations; reading, parsing, or extracting text from any .pptx or .potx file (even if the extracted content will be used elsewhere, like in an email or summary); editing, modifying, or updating existing presentations; combining or splitting slide files; working with templates (.potx), layouts, speaker notes, or comments. Trigger whenever the user mentions \"deck,\" \"slides,\" \"presentation,\" or references a .pptx or .potx filename, regardless of what they plan to do with the content afterward. If a .pptx or .potx file needs to be opened, created, or touched, use this skill.
- pdf
anthropics/skills
Use this skill whenever the user wants to do anything with PDF files. This includes reading or extracting text/tables from PDFs, combining or merging multiple PDFs into one, splitting PDFs apart, rotating pages, adding watermarks, creating new PDFs, filling PDF forms, encrypting/decrypting PDFs, extracting images, and OCR on scanned PDFs to make them searchable. If the user mentions a .pdf file or asks to produce one, use this skill.
- xlsx
anthropics/skills
Use this skill any time a spreadsheet file is the primary input or output. This means any task where the user wants to: open, read, edit, or fix an existing .xlsx, .xlsm, .xltx, .csv, or .tsv file (e.g., adding columns, computing formulas, formatting, charting, cleaning messy data); create a new spreadsheet from scratch or from other data sources; or convert between tabular file formats. Trigger especially when the user references a spreadsheet file by name or path — even casually (like \"the xlsx in my downloads\") — and wants something done to it or produced from it. Also trigger for cleaning or restructuring messy tabular data files (malformed rows, misplaced headers, junk data) into proper spreadsheets. The deliverable must be a spreadsheet file. Do NOT trigger when the primary deliverable is a Word document, HTML report, standalone Python script, database pipeline, or Google Sheets API integration, even if tabular data is involved.

Use when the main job is to understand how a compiled, obfuscated, packed, or virtualized target works before exploiting or solving it, including binaries, APKs, WASM, firmware, custom VMs, bytecode, game clients, malware-like loaders, and anti-debug or anti-analysis logic. Do not use it when the vulnerability is already understood and the remaining task is exploitation; use pwn instead. Do not use it for pure web workflows, log or disk forensics, or standalone crypto problems unless reversing the implementation is the real blocker.

Install, authenticate, troubleshoot, and operate Gemini Notebook through the notebooklm-py CLI or typed async Python API. Use for notebook and source management, grounded chat and research, and artifact generation or download when the user mentions Gemini Notebook, notebooklm-py, the notebooklm CLI, or its Python API. Do not use it for native binary memory corruption, reverse engineering of standalone executables, disk or memory forensics, or pure cryptanalysis unless the web flaw is still the main path to the flag.
- ctf-pwn
ljagiello/ctf-skills
Provides binary exploitation techniques for CTF challenges. Use when you already have a vulnerable native target or service and need to turn memory corruption or low-level primitives into code execution or privilege escalation, such as buffer overflows, format strings, heap bugs, ROP, ret2libc, shellcode, kernel exploitation, seccomp bypass, sandbox escape, or Windows/Linux exploit chains. Do not use it when the main blocker is understanding what the binary does; use reverse engineering first. Do not use it for pure web bugs, disk or packet forensics, or standalone crypto/math challenges.
